This is a general designation for training programs aimed at the development of business leaders whose high levels of expertise and broad perspectives enable them to pursue active roles in the world.

For the employees of Nippon Yusen (NYK) and affiliated domestic companies, NYK Business College offers (1) Skills Training Programs that consist of various trainings such as in the basic knowledge of business practice and technical aspects, interpersonal communication skills, and foreign language, and (2) Management Development Programs for managers. To make these trainings more effective, the programs have introduced e-learning courses to supplement trainings in groups. The employees of foreign affiliated companies are additionally offered programs such as Global NYK Week, which extends invitations to visit Japan and participate in one-week intensive programs.

NYK maintains its own Tobitakyu Training Center in Chofu (a small city in Greater Tokyo). This sophisticated training facility accommodates up to 40 participants and allows them to concentrate on their training in a quiet environment away from their offices.
