Announcement of Business Transfer

Nippon Yusen Kaisha ("NYK") and Monohakobi Technology Institute ("MTI") are pleased to announce the signing of a business transfer agreement as stated below.

NOTE

1. Reason for business transfer:
We have decided to transfer the customer-relationship function of MTI's Logistics Solution Unit to the NYK Technical Group to make decision-making smoother, to increase customer satisfaction, and to expand the Logistics Solution Unit's business worldwide by coupling it with NYK's range of business fields.

2. Date of business transfer:
April 1, 2010

3. Details of business transfer:
 -Customer relationship of logistics solutions by using information- communication technologies
 -Planning and reviewing the business development of logistics solutions by using information-communication technologies

4. Organization
To implement this business transfer, NYK plans to establish a new division, the R&D Business Development Office, in the Technical Group.
The development sector of the Logistics Solution Unit remains in MTI and continues its activities in cooperation with the R&D Business Development Office.
