NYK SUPER ECO SHIP
NYK SUPER ECO SHIP 2050
Our carbon free concept ship of the future
To achieve our greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction target and decarbonization, we have reviewed the technical advances conceived for our previous future concept ship NYK Super Eco Ship 2030.
Together with NYK and Elomatic, an engineering and consulting company based in Finland, we have taken advantage of advancements in hull remodeling, hull weight reduction, energy conservation, and digitalization to newly design an emission-free future concept ship.

NYK Super Eco Ship 2030
Our concept for the future- 69% less CO2 emissions
Shipping is one of the most eco-friendly forms of transportation. But greenhouse gas emissions from shipping are increasing along with the growth of world trade. NYK Super Eco Ship 2030, first announced in 2009, is based on an 8,000 TEU container ship, the largest class at that time. This concept ship for the future uses new technologies that help to achieve a 69% reduction of CO2 per container carried compared with conventional container ships.
MTI continues to work on the development of ship technologies that contribute to the world economy and stay earth-friendly.
