12.1986 The Technical Development Center was established by the Marine Division of NYK.
06.1995 Changed its name to Logistics Technology Institute and opened its office in Shinsugita, Isogo-ku, Yokohama.
07.1997 NYK Logistics Technology  Institute (NYK LTI) was established.
02.2001 Moved its head office to the Yusen Building in Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo.
09.2001 The oil-analysis operations were transferred to Nippon Yuka Kogyo Co. Ltd.
04.2004 NYK LTI was reorganized as MTI.
06.2005 MTI took over NYK’s transport-consulting business.
11.2006 RFID demonstration-test facilities (called MTI TOKYO LAB) opened in Tokyo.
09.2007 An RFID demonstration-test lab opened in Prague, Czech Republic.
09.2013 Opened its branch office in Singapore.
12.2013 The RFID demonstration-test facilities (called MTI TOKYO LAB) were closed as its further functioning became unnecessary.
04.2022 The oscillation-test business was transferred to Japan Marine Science Inc.
