Speaking at Singapore Maritime Week 2025

Singapore Maritime Week 2025, one of Singapore’s most significant international maritime events was held from March 24 to 28. On the second day, March 25, Hideki Suzuki, President of MTI, took part in a panel discussion on autonomous ships, “The Future of Autonomous and Remote Vessel Operations,” where he spoke about the latest initiatives related to autonomous ships and the challenges and prospects for future implementation.

On the opening day, March 24, NYK president Takaya Soga took part in a panel discussion and expressed NYK’s commitment to driving the decarbonization of the maritime industry through zero-emission fuels such as ammonia. Further, on the fourth day, Takahiro Rokuroda, general manager of NYK’s Next Generation Fuel Business Group, took part in a panel discussion “Gearing up the Maritime Workforce for alternative fuels,” and expressed his views on ensuring the safety of seafarers on ammonia-fueled ships.
The NYK Group will lead initiatives related to decarbonization, digitalization, and talent development in the maritime industry and contribute to its development as a sustainable industry.
