MTI Joined the 1st International Conference on
Maritime Autonomous Surface Ship

The 1st International Conference on Maritime Autonomous Surface Ship (ICMASS 2018) was held from November 8 to 9 in Busan, Korea.

ICMASS, which presents cutting-edge and on-going works on autonomous ships from all around the world to both academic and industry researchers, was arranged as a part of INAS(the International Network for Autonomous Ship)co-operation and this was the first time. MTI Senior General Manager Dr. Hideyuki Ando joined as a committee member and during the Collaboration & Strategy session gave a presentation sharing the activities in Japan: Smart Ship Application Platform (SSAP) project, realization of ship-shore open platform concept, and such. In the Industry session, Capt. Koji Kutsuna, Marine IT team manager at MTI, gave a presentation on feasibility studies of the economy and practicability of autonomous ships.
